~iD PROVIDIN~ A PENAL~f FOR T~E VIOLATION OF ~IS ORDLNANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED By the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, as follows:
SECTION 1: That it shall be unlawful for any livestock
to run at large within the City Limits of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida.
SECTION 2: That any livestock found running at large
within the City Limits of the City of Delray Beach, Florida,
shall be impounded in the City Pound and shall be held in said
City Pound for a period not to exceed ten days, during which
period the owner may have said livestock released by paying
the sum of $1.00 per day per head for each such livestock impounded.
If the owner of such livestock does not obtain the release of the
same within said ten days period, the City of Delray Beach,
through its Chief of Police, shall sell said livestock at public
sale at the City Pound after first giving public notice of said
sale in one issue of a newspaper published in Delray Beach, Florida.
SECTION 3: Any person who willfully or negligently allows
any livestock belOnging to him, or under his custody or control,
to run at large within the City Limits of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be
punished by fine of not exceeding One ~undred Dollars ($100.00)
or by imprisonment in the City jail not exceedings' thirty (301
days. As a part of the penalty, the judge mm~y assess all costs of
impounding said ~nimals against the defendaut.
