Res 29-78 RESOLUTION NO. 29-78 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATION OF A CONTRACT TO FURNISH MATERIALS AND LABOR TO CONSTRUCT A WATER SUPPLY WELL IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. WHEREAS, the City entered into a contract with Alsay-Pippen Cor- poration on February 5, 1976, for construction of four (4) water supply wells; and WHEREAS, the City was unable to obtain an easement for the raw water main from the site of the fourth well and the contract was final- ized with the completion of three water supply wells plus the acquisition of pumps, motor and controls for the fourth water supply well; and WHEREAS, it is now determined that an easement for the raw water main will be available from the Delray Beach Housing Authority, and WHEREAS, the City administration has negotiated with Alsay-Pippen Corporation for the construction of the fourth water supply well, using the City owned pump, motor and controls, at an estimated cost of $67,366 depending on geologic conditions, and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Manager that the Council award a contract for the construction of a water supply well, and WHEREAS, it is the Council's opinion that the award of this contract would be in the best interest of the City, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That said contract to furnish all labor and materials in addition to the City owned pump, motor and controls to construct a water supply well in accordance with plans and specifications be awarded to Alsay-Pippen Corporation in the amount of $67,366. Section 2. That the award of this contract shall be contingent on the City obtaining proper easement for the raw water main from this water supply well. Section 3. That this improvement shall be funded from the 1972 Water and Sewer Revenue Bond Issue. PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular session on this the 28th day of March , 1978. ATTEST: ~ty Clerk
