Res 928-54 HESOL~TION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELEAY BEACH, FLORIDA WHEREAS, the City of Delray Beach is presently served with railroad facilities by the Florida East Coast Railroad and the Seaboard Railroad, and WHEREAS, the City of Delray Beach has grown to such an extent that the Florida East Coast Railroad bisects the central business and residential areas of said City, and WHEREAS, said Florida East Coast Railroad bisecting said City aforesaid does constitute a hindrance to the growth and orderly development of the City; does constitute a hazard to the safety of the citizens of said City; and a nuisance to said City, and WHE~S, no adequate provision exists in said City for the inter- change of traffic between said railroads as may be required by law, and WHEREAS, Section 350.12 Florida Statutes Annotated dees give broad powers to the State Railroad Commission req,~,~ring Joint freight and passenger terminals and other relief. NOW, ~EE, EE IT ~ESOLVED BY~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BW~ACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the Council does hereby express its desire to see con- solidated the facilities of the Florida East Coast Railroad and the Seaboard Railroad by the use of the Seaboard tracks and terminal through and in the City of Delray Beach. 2. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded the State Railroad Comtssion, the Florida East Coast Railroad and the Seaboard Railroad.
