A RESOLUTION O~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY,
FLORIDA, ADOPTING ITS ANNUAL BUDGET OF
ESTIMATED EXPENSES FOR T HE FISCAL YEAR
1953-1954, AND LEVYING A TAX ON ALL PRO-
PERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH
FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION, AND LEVY-
ING A TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF PRINCIPAL
AND INTEREST ON BONDED INDEBTEDNESS AGAINST
THE PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE P0RMER CITY OF
D~m.W~f, AND ALLOCATING AND APPROPRIATING
SAID COLLECTIONS THEREUNDER.
MHEREAS, Section 69, Article 15 of the City Charter of the
City of Delray Beach, stipulates that the fiscal year of said City
shall be from October let through September 30th, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has submitted his recozauended budget
in conformance with the provisions of Section 70, A~ticle 15 of
said Charter, and
WEEREAS, the budget contains such estimates, statements, and
supporting schedules as are called for by Section 71, Article 15
of said Charter, and
~HEREA~, a public hearing on the budget, as provided for in
Section 72, was held on the 14th day of September, 1953, and
h~EREAS, the Council has seen fit to amend the budget in those
matters which are of record in the minutes of the special meeting
of August 26th, 1953, and
'WHEREAS, Section 73 requires that the budget as processed, and
as amended, shall be adopted not later than the first regular meeting
in the month of September,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Delray Beach, that the budget so processed and amended for the
fiscal year ending September 30, 1954, is hereby agreed upon and
adopted, and that the amount of money for all of the respective
purposes set forth therein is needed for the operation of said City
du~ing the said fiscal year, and there is hereby appropriated to such
respective purposes the amount of money set opposite such respective
purpose s.
BE IT FUHT~ RESOLVED that there shall be and is hereby approp-
riated for the payment of several items of expenditure totaling the
aggregate sum of $ 470,142.00, the revenue ~erived from the tax of
13 Mills which is hereby levied on all taxable property within the
City of Delray Beach for the fiscal year 1953-1954, the assessed
valuation on all taxable property f_or operating purposes within the
City of Delray Beach being $ 17,378,945.00 for operation and/or
maintenance expenses of General Government, and also in addition,
all reventtSs derived by said City dttring said fiscal year from all
other sources than the tax levy for current bond service, and that
part of collection of delinquent taxes levied for bond service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the amount of money necessary to be
raised for bond dbbt service for bonds and interest which constitutes
an indebtedness of that portion of the City of Delray Beach, which was
formerly the City of Delray, is $ 79,385,000.00, and that there is
hereby appropriated ~or the payment thereof, all revenues derived from
the tax levy of 5 Mills hereby levied for that pus-pose for the fiscal
year 1953-1954, upon the taxable property in that portion of the City
of Delray Beach which was formerly the City of Delray, the assessed
valuation being $ 15,877,000.00.
