Res 909-53 RESOLUTION NO. 909 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, is sympatheticaly disposed to the position of the Negro Civic League of the City of Delray Beach; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray Beach deems the establishment of a Beach exclusively for negroes in the southern part of the County~ to be of benefit to the entire south portion of the County, and not to the City of Delray Beach alone; and MttEREAS, the City of Delray Beach is willing to cooperate and assume its fair share of the burden of acquiring and op- erating such a colored Beach for the southern part of the County; NOW, T~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Delray Beach endorse the letter of the Negro Civic League of Delray Beach, addressed to the Chairman of the County Commission, Mr. Lake Lytal, under date of September 10th, 1953, and t~at the County Commission be requested to advise the City Council when the request of the Negro Civic League will be brought up for discussion, so that members of the City Council and the Negro Civic League, both of Delray Beach, may be present to be heard on the matter.
