A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITT OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the securing of the necessary dedications of rights-
of-way to effect a full 80, improvmment project through East
Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach will entail time beyond that which
is available between now and the Au~Ast letting of contracts by the
State Road Department; and
WHEREA~, there is now sufficient right-of-way to effect a
60, paving improvement project, together with storm sewers, curbs
and gutters, embracing all the proposed improvements except the
contemplated park areas and new sidewalks; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray Beach deems
it to the best interests of the City of Delray Beach to effect
these improvements which can be made within the present right-of~way
before the next tourist season begins, which is to say before
December 1st, next;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Delray Beach, as follows:
SECTION 1: To urge the State Road Board, through our District
Member, the Honorable Merrill P. Barber, to proceed
with the curb-to-curb and storm sewer installation portion of the
proposed project in the August letting of State Road Department
c ont r&c t s.
SECTION 2: To assume, as and for the City of Delray Beach,
the responsibility of acquiring the necessary
additional ri6hts-of-way and improving the ten foot strips either
side of this 60, paving project, so that the end product will be
an 80, improvement effected Jointly by the State Road Department
and the City of Delray Beach; the State Road Department effecting
the curb-to-curb and storm sewer improvements; the City of Delray
Beach affecting the park area and sidewalk improvements.
PASSED by unanimous vote of tb~ City Council convened in
Special Session at the City Hall, Delray Beach, Florida, at 4:00
P. M., June 30th, 1952.
