EXgERPT FRO~ ~,~INUTES OF [~[EETING HELD NOVE~[BER 12TH,. 19~6.
~r. King Cone, a member of the Athletic Committee which
maintains and improves the field, urged the City to share the
burden to a certain extent, as the field is used by all of the
children, and the public, as a Recreation Field. -He suggested
that the electric light bills be sent to the C~ty as this would
save the 20% discount allowed on City accounts, the Com~mittee
to refund the cost to the City. He further suggested that a
Committee be appointed by the City Council to manage the
~Iemorial Field as a City project, ~hich would be done without
any cost to the City. The Committee ~0uld still function to
maintain and operate the field, but would have the City's backing.
Councilman White recommended that the present Committee
be approved by the ~Council, and that details be handled through
the City Council, all recommendations to come from the 5[anaging
Committee. This Committee consists of the following:
J. Z. Parker, Chairman - Representing the Lions Club
A1 Turner - " Kiwanis Club
