19~2, DESIGNATING THE CANDIDATES WHO ARE ENTITLED TO
HAVE THEIR NA~.~ES PRLNTED T~EREON, A2~D APPO~TING A CLERK
A~D iNSPECTORS TO HOLD SAID ELECTION,
~PHEREAS the charter of the City of Delray Beach pro-
vides that the regular mdnicipal election shall be held on the
first Tuesday in December of each year, and whereas it is the
duty of the City Council to provide for the holding of said
elect ion,
NOW, TI~REFORE, Be it resolved by the City Council of
the City of Delray Beach as follows:
1st. The Council finds that no candidates qualified
by petition to have their names placed in the voting machine
to be used in the general election to be held on December l,
1942. The following candidates nominated by the primary
election held on November 18, 1942, are, therefore, the only
candidates entitled to have their names placed in the voting
machine on the general election in the group indicated:
Group D- - J.R. ~cFee
E. H. Scott
Group E- - F.W. Wodischek
2nd. A voting machine will be used in said general
election as heretofore provided by resolution duly adopted
by this Council.
3rd. The City Council hereby appoints ~.g. SU~¥,
as Clerk and ¥~,.~. R. GE0~ , GEORGE W. ~IAYS£RRY , and ~l~s..,,
g~ L~,~¥, ,, as inspectors of said election.
4th. This election shall be Conducted substantially
on the principles adopted for State elections insofar as the
same do not conflict with the charter of the City of Delray
Beach. The candidate in each group who receives the highest
number of votes shall be declared elected.
5th. The result of the voting in said general election,
when ascertained, shall be certified by return in duplicate
signed by the Clerk and a majority of the inspectors of said
election, one copy to be delivered to the ~'~'Iayor and the other
to the City Clerk, both of whom shall transmit such returns
to the City Council at a called meeting to be held not later
than three days after such election. At such ~_~eting the
City Council shall canvass the returns, and in the absence of
a declaration of a contest by any of the candidates in such
election, shall declare the result of the election by the
returns made by the Clerk and inspectors for said election.

November, A. D. 1942.
