A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PLANS AhND SPECIFICATIONS oF THE
CITY ENGINEER FOR CE iTAIN STRLET IPJP~OV~;~ WO~ TO BE
CONSTRUCTED ON THOMAS ST}~ET FRO~ T~KE OCEAN BOULEVARD TO
ANDREWS AVENUE, AND ALSO THE ESTIMATED COST OF THE PRO-
POSED I~ROV~ENTS ~ItICH IS SET FORTH IN SAID PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS.
BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of
Delray Beach, Florida, that plans and specifications and
the estZma~ed cost, elaotmting to $ ~_? ~ ~ of the
proposed street improvement work be accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That said plans and specifi-
cations of the City Engineer be riled with the Uity Clerk of
the City of Delray Beach, Florida, and that the same shall be
open to the inspection of the public, and that a copy of said
plans, specifications and estimates of cost shall be filed in
the office of the City Engineer for public inspection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That said plans and specifzcations
and estimated cost of the proposed improvements cover the
following work, to-wit:
Grading and paving Thomas Street from the Ocean Boulevard
to Andrews Avenue.
ADOPTED By the Oity Council of the City of Delray Beach,

ANDREWS AVENUE TO OCEAN BOULEVARD
For a distance of 225' from the Andrews Avenue pavement,
the sub grade shall be removed to a depth of 8' and refilled
with s amd, which is free from muck,marl or ~rash, approximately
250 ou yds. of this fill material is to be deposited from the
ridge cut. Excavated muck is 1~ be removed frcm the site of
this work by the contractor.
Grades are to be furnished by the City and 411 conform
to the attached profile.
Header boards are ~o be set and allowed to remain in
place, these are to be 2" x 6" #1 South Fl~rida Pine of th~ least
85 heart or equal. Theme are to be set to ture grade and alignment
before a~y rock is placed.
Ail returns are to be on a 20' radius and shall have
A" x 12" reinforced concrete headers. Reinforcing shall be
one one-hell inch deformed bar and shall be set as flirected by
the Engineer. The mix is to be 1; 3: 5, and only cement of
American manufacture is to b e used. Coarse aggregate is to be
~" screen and fine
washed limestone rock which will pass a ,
aggregate shall be clean white sand.
Paving is to b~e S" of S.R.D. ~2 rock compressed to 6".
Compression shall be done with a roller which has a minimum gross
weight of ten (10) tons. Paving is to be thoroughly waterbound
and made ready for oiling. Each bid shall include ten cents (10¢)
per square yard for oiling by the City.
The notice to contractors appearing in the Delray Beach
News shall be considered a pmrt of these specifications.
PAVING SPECIFICATIONS
THOMAS STREET
ANDBEWS AVENUE - TO - OGEAN BOULEVARD
For a distance of 225' from the Andrews A~enue pavement,
the sub grade shall be removed to a depth of 8' or to sand bottom,
and refilled with sand, which is free from muck, marl or trash.
Approximately 2~0 cu yds. of this fill material is to be deposited
from the ridge cut. Excavated muck is to be removed from the site
of this work by the contractor, as directed by the City.
O~ades are to be furnished by the City and will conform to
the profile on file in the office of the City Engineer.
Header boards are to be set and allowed to remain in place.
These are to be 2" x 6" #1 South Florida Pine of at least 85%
heart or equal. These are to be set to true grade and alignment
before any rock is placed. Ail returns are to be on a 35' radius.
Paving is to be 8" of S.R.D. #2 rock compressed to
ever the Council will entertain alternate bids anticipating the
use of local rock ~hich should be figured 10. loose in forms.
Paving is to be theroughly waterbound and made ready for oiling.
Each bid shall include fifteen cents (15$) per square yard ~Sr
oiling 2 coats by the City.
Excavation as required in paragraph one has been completed
and bidders shall include the sum of $1~1.00 to reimburse the
City for this w~rk,
Bidders shall state the time required for completion of the
~orke
Time ahall be considered the essence of the contract and for
each calander day over the time specified the contractor will be
charged $5.00 per day until the contract is completed and the Job
accepted by the City Engineer.
