Res 351A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND INST~CTING THE CITY CLERK TO EST~BLISH THE FIRE~N'S RELl~EF AND PENSION FUND, AND PROVIDI~G FOR THE DEDUCTION FR0~ THE SALARY OF EACH FIREMAN THE SUni OF 2% OF SAID SALARY, AND PROVIDING FOR T~E HANDLING OF ALL SUCH M0~EY OF THE FIRFj~EN'S RELIEF ~ND PENSION FUND. ?~tEREAS the Legislature of the State of Florida did, in the year 1939, pass an Act providing for the creation of a Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund in this and other municipalities of the State, and WHERF~S, pursuant to such Act, a Board of Trustees of such fund has been created as provided by law, and ¥~HEREAS such law provides that 2% of the salary of each fireman duly enrolled as a member of the Delray Beach Fire Department shall be deducted by the municipality and paid over to the Board of Trustees, and %'~HEREAS such law further provides that all funds and securities of the Fi~men's Relief and Pension Fund shall be deposited with the City Treasurer, NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, that Mae W. Cramp, the City Clerk, is hereby authorized and instructed to deduct the s~m of 2% from the salary of each fireman enrolled in the Delray Beach Fire Department, and to place said money in a separate fund to be created for such purpose, and she is hereby authorized and instructed to place in said fund all other money received by the City of Delray Beach for the Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund. Such account shall be created in such a manner that funds can only be withdrawn therefrom by drafts signed by both the chairman and the sec- retary of the Board of Trustees of the Fir~men's Relief and Pension Fund. When money is so withdrawn, the City Treasurer shall retain such drafts as permanent records of the disburse- ments so made. PASSED in regular session on this the II day of March, A. D. 1940.
