Res 171 RESOLUTION FOR UNITED STATES POST
OFFICE, DELPJ~Y BEACH, FLA.
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Delray Beach,
Florida has investigated thoroughly the needs of the City of
Delray Beach, Florida, for a United states Post Office Building,
and has found that the present facilities for handling the
U. S. mails in this City are inadequate and not sufficient to
care for the demands of the citizens of this City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Delray Beach, Florida, is one of
'the most outstanding cities on the East Coast of Florida, and
its population is increasing rapidly, and the urgent need for
a new U. S. Post Office Building to effeciently and adequately
serve its present population, and its future population, is
apparent; and
WHEREAS, City of Delray Beach,

citizens
of
the
Florida, have requested the City Council to petition and request
the Honorable Senators C. O. Andrews and Claude E. Pepper and
Honorable Congressman Mark Wilcox to immediately cause an
investigation to be made by the proper Post Office officials
in order that the needs of this City for a new Post Office Build-
ing may be properly brought to the attention of said Post Office
officials.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the City Council of
the City of Delray Beach, Florida, that the Honorable Senators
C. O. Andrews and Claude E. Pepper and the Honorable Congressman
Mark Wilcox be and they are hereby requested to immediately
petition and request the proper U. S. Post Office officials to
investigate the urgent needs of the City of Delray Beach, Florida
for the construction of a new U. S. Post Office Building, in
order that the postal service in said city may be efficiently
handled.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Honorable Senators
C. 0. Andrews and Claude E. Pepper, and the Honorable Congress-
man Mark Wilcox be forwarded a copy of this resolution, together
with a copy of the Delray Beach News of February 19th, in which
the facts showing the urgent need of a Post Office Building
are properly set forth.
