Res 254 REsoLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL EXTENDING A VOTE OF THANKS FOR ASSISTANCE RENDERED IN PERFECTING THE WIDTH OF SOUTH OCEAN BOULEVARD FROM MIRAMAR DRIVE, SOUTH, TO THE CITY LIMITS. WHEREAS, through the combined efforts of the Works Progress A~ministration of the Federal Government, the State Highvmy Department of the State Government, and the County of Palm Beach, through the assistance of Mr. C. Y. Byrd, County Commissioner, the City of Delray Beach has been able to widen. and reconstruct South Ocean Boulevard from Miramar Drive, South, to the city limits, and, whereas, it has been estimated by our city engineer that the value of this improvement,over and above the expenses incurred by the city, is in excess of the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), and whereas, such improvement is a materialhenefit to our city, both from the standpoint of beautification of the beach boulevard and relief of traffic congestion, NOW, THEEEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the City of Delray Beach, Florida, that we extend our thanks to the Works Progress Administration of the Federal Government, the State Highway Department of the State Government, and the County of Palm Beach, through Mr. C. Y. Byrd, County Commissioner, for the very material assistance rendered by these branches of govern- ment. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to place this resolution on file among the records of this city and mail a copy thereof to each of the above governmental agencies.
