OIT~ OF DT~J~RA¥ BE, A~{, FLORIDA.
WRERF~S, it has been brought to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, that cer-
tain property owners of lands .lying Ln Seotic~ 15 and Section
22, Township 45 Sc~th of Range 43 East, are preparing to have
constr~cted and placed in the Atlmntic Ocean, adjoining and
opposite of the above described property, permanent groins
and piling in the very near rufus'e, and
~RF~S, it has been conclusively proven on a number of
occasions, in Palm Beach County, Florida, that where groins,
piling or Jetties are eor~tructed smd placed into the Atlantic
Ocean, that the property lying South of said groins, piling or
Jetties, and abutting on the Atlantic Ocean is destroyed and
damaged by the cutting in .of the ocean currents end the taking
away of the beach sands to great depths, end
~/ER~.,AS' ~ ~- , the City of Delray Beach is located in Palm
Beach County, and Sc~th of Section 15 and 22 in Township 45
South of Range 43 East, and is in great danger of having its
~'operty, streets and improvements damaged and destroyed, and
also ~he property of its citizens, dae to the proposed oonstxwA-
ctlo~ of said permanent groins and piling opposite the above
described property.
NOW, THF~EFORE, be it ~esolved by the City Council of the
City of Delray Beach, Florida: That the Oity Council go on
record as opposed to the construction of said permanent piling,
groins or Jetties in the Atlantic Ocean, as is planned by the
property owner~ l~ Seeti~.m 15 and 2~, Town. ship 45 South of
Range 43 F.,ast, fOr the reasons set forth in the above preamble
to this Resolu$~ea,
