A Special Neeting of.the City Council was held L~. the Council
Chambers at 10:00 A.M., with Mayor George Talbot Jr. ~n the Chair,
City N~nager W. E. Lawson Jr., City Attorney Harry T. Newett and
Commissioners J. LeRoy Croft, Charles H. Harbison and George V.
Warren being present.
Mayor Talbot Callea the Meeting.to order, same having been
scheduled for the purpose of canvassing the 'Returns' of the General
Election held on December 1st, 1959, in compliance with Section
of Article XIX in the Charter for the City of Delray Beach, Florida.
The Mayor then read the following 'Return' of said Election:

Referendum on FRANCHISE for F.P.L. Co., FOR 846

TOTAL VOTES CAST 2148
Mayor Talbot inquired of the Election Candi~ates present, Mm.
McNeece being abs.ent, if anyone had any objection or comment to the
'Returns' as subm~tted~ each of whom expressed "No Cogent".
On motion of Commissioner Croft and seconded by Commissioner
Harbison, .the Council unanimously approved the 'Returns' of the Gen-
eral Elect~on held on December 1st, 1989, as ,read.
The N~yor then read the following letter:
FLORIDA PUBLIC UTILITIES COMPANY
Nov. 25th, 1959.
"In accordance with Seetion 11 of Ordinance G-$16 passed and
adopted by the City Council of t.he. City of Delray Beach, Florida on
May 25, 1959, you are hereby notzfzed that natural gas is available
for purchase by Grantee at such point of delivery, at such price or
prices, and in such quantities as Grantee in its sole discretion
deems satisfactory and approve.
Please be advised that Florida Public Utilities Company expects
to begin the distribution of natural gas on or about January 18, 1960
in the City of Delray Beach, Florida.
We shall be pleased to have the privilege of bringing this won-
derful fuel to the fine citizens of your City."
