McDuffie in the First Floor Conference Room at Cite Hall at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Roll call showed: Present - Commissioner Gary P. Eliopoulos Cammissioner Fred B. Fetzer Commissioner Adam Frankel Commissioner Mackenson Berxiard Mayor Nelson S. McDuffie Absent - None Also present were - David T. Harden, City Manager Susan A. Ruby, City Attorney Chevelle D. Nubin, City Clerk Mayor Nelson S. McDuffie called the workshop meeting to order and announced that it had been called for the purpose of considering the following Item: WORKSHOP AGENDA 1. oint Session with the Communi Redevelo men.t enc CRA Ms. Diane Colonna, Executive Director of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), introduced the following board members: Frank Wheat, Chair; Howard Lewis, Vice-Chair; William, Branning, Angeleta Gray, Peter Arts, Thomas F. Carney, Jr., and Veronica Covington. Ms. Colonna stated the CRA district consists of the entire Central Business District, the adjacent neighborhoods east of I-9~ between Lake lda Road and S.W. 10~' Street and much of the area north of downtown betareen Swinton Avenue and the Intracoastal Waterway to Boynton Beach. Ms Colonna conducted a PowerPoint presentation outlining and updating the Commission on several projects, activities and costs regarding the West Atlantic Corridor: • West Atlantic Beautification Sunshine Pack • Atlantic Park Square • Eagle's Nest • S.W. 12s' Avenue Beautification • Neighborhood Resource Center • 1100 Block Redevelopment (West Atlantic Avenue} 0/26/2009 • S.W. 9s' Avenue Pxoperty • 805 West Atlantic Avenue (Former Unique Oil Property) • Carver Square • S.W. 7`~ Avenue Property • West Atlantic Avenue (600 Block) Public Plaza @ S.W. 5~' Avenue • NW/SW 5t'` Avenue Beautification • Carolyn Quince Couxt • West Settlex's Building (135 N.W. 5~' Avenue) • Delray Beach Housing Authority Future Office Building ($2 N.W. 5s' Avenue) 9S S.W. 5~' Avenue + Spady Museum Complex-Expansiozz + West Settler's Grant/Loan Program • LaFrance Apartments {140 N.W. 4~ Avenue) • Maxon Luther King Boulevard $eautification {NE/NW 2na Street} • CODA (S.W. 2nd Avenue) • Curb Appeal Grant Pxogram Ms. Colonna then discussed the projects and activities as well as costs for the Central Core Area (between Swinton Avenue and the Intracoastal): • Redevelopment of the Old Library Site • Pineapple Grove Parking Lot • U.S. 1 Caxxidor Improvements • S.E. 2nd Avenue • Park 7mpxovements • Business Development • Grants and Loans • Community Sponsorship Grants The Commission thanked Ms. Calonx~a for the presentation and discussion continued between the City Commission and the CRA hoard regarding the amount of work performed by Ms. Colonna and her staff, budget, building partnerships with residents and the city, and getting the zxxessage out regarding what has and is being accomplished by the Community Redevelopment Agency. It was the cansen.sus of the Commission to meet with the CRA bi-annually and that the presentation by Ms. Colonna was thorough and excellent.
