Res 38-09RESOLUTION NO. 38-09 A RESOLUTION C}F THE CITY CC-IviMISSIC-N {~F THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, TO TENTATIVELY LEVY A TAX ON ALL PROPERTIES WITHIN THE DOWNTOI~JN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TAXING DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLC-RIDA, FC}R MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION, AND TO APPROPRIATE SAID COLLECTIONS THEREUNDER. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: ecti n 1. That a tax of $1.0040 per one thousand dollars {$1,404.40) of assessed valuation is hereby tentatively levied an a]1 taxable property within the Downtown Development Authority Taxing District of the City of Delray Beach for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2409, and ending September 34, 2414. There shall be and hereby is appropriated far the purpose of financing the operation of the Downtown Development Authority Taxing. District revenue derived from said tax for operating and maintenance expenses of the Downtown Development Authority Taxing District, and also in addition, all revenues derived by said Taxing District during said fiscal year from all other sources other than the tax levy for current bond service and that part of collection of delinquent taxes levied for bond service. The assessed valuation on alI taxable property for operating purposes within the Downtown Develapment Authority Taxing District of the City of Delray Beach is X497,?49,626. The tentative operating millage rate of $1.040 per one thousand dollars {1,400.40} is less than the rolled-back rate of X1,1982 per one thousand dollars {$1,040.00) by 16.55°l4. Section 2. That the above tentative millage rate is adapted pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 204.465{2}{e)(2), and subject to adjustment in accordance with Section 200.465{5} of the Florida Statutes which provides that each affected taxing authority, other than municipalities, counties, school boards, and water management districts, may adjust its adapted millage rate if the taxable value within the jurisdiction of the taxing authority as certified pursuant to Section 204.065{1) is at variance by more than three percent {3°l0} with the taxable value shaven an the assessment roll to be extended. BACKGROUND The proposed tentative millage rate of 1.4444 for the DDA would not increase from FY 2449 and is 16.55% below the rolled-back rate (1.1982). The assessed valuation an all taxable property far operating purposes within the Downtown Development Authority Taxing District of the City of Delray Beach is X497,749,626. A copy of the proposed DDA budget for PY 2414 is attached. Pinal adoption ofthe DDA tax levy far PY 2414 is scheduled far September 22, 2449.
