A Special Heeting of the City Conssission was held in the
Commission Chambers at 7:30 P. H., Honday, July 18th, 1955, with
Hayor W. J. Snow in the Chair, City Hanager W. E. Lawson Jr., City
Attorney Nell HacHillan, and the following Conmission Hembers being
present, Emory $. Barrow, ~atherine E. Strong and Glenn B. Sundy, a
quorum bein~ present.
The City Hanager read a letter from Hrs. Elsie W. Davis, as
follows:
'Delray Beach, Florida
July 18, 1955
Honorable City Commission

Gentlemen:
! am pleased to offer my property for sale to
the City for the sum of ~30,000o00 Net to me.
Sale to be consumated at the earliest possible
date.
It is to be understood that I may live in the
house until November 1, 1955. Should the City have
a prospective purchaser for the house prior to that
date, I have no objections to showing house to them.
Above offer does not include Furnishings.
Legal Description of said property:- Tae S 16'
of Lot 15, all of lots 16 and 17, of Block 101, Delray
Beach, Fla. P.L.Book. 1-3 (Subject to deed heretofor
made by the owner to the City of Delray Beach, convey-
ing the E 5* of the above described property for street
and road purposes,recorded as of 4-5-51- Deed Book 939-326).

wherein Mrs. Davis offfered to sell, to the City of Delray Beach,
Fla., the following described lands - The S 16' of Lot 15, all of
Lots 16 and 17, of Block 101, Delray Beach, Fla., P1. Bk. 1-3
(subject to deed heretofore made by the owner to the City of Delray
Beach, conveying the E 5* of the above described property for street
and road purposes, and recorded as of April 5th, 1951, ~,B; 939-326).
Co~missioner Strong moved that the City of Delray Beach accept
the offer of Mrs. Elsie W. Davis, as outlined above, and ptwchase
the land described herein, for 0iff-Street Parking, and that the
City Attorney proceed to effect closing of said purchase for the
sum of thirty (30) thousand dollars net to Hrs. Davis, Motion was
seconded by Commissioner Barrow and unanimously carried.
Conmissioner Strong made a motion that .the City Attorney be in-
structed to negotiate for the purchase of Lot 19, Block 92, Delray
Beach, Florida, said lot being 46.6 ft. by 125.0 ft., for additional
Off-Street Parking. Hotion was seconded by Commissioner Barrow and
unanimously carried.

Commission be requested to take the ~eeessary steps in effffect-
lng provision for a fou~-lane highway into the City of Delray
Beach, from the clover-leaf of the p~oposed new super-hi~h~ayo
