A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City ~ Delray
Beach was held in the Council Chambers at 4:00 ?.M. with Mayor
Catherine E. Strong in the Chair, City Manager Robert Lovelace,
City Attorney Nell MacMillan and the following Council members
present: Mrs. Alma K. Noehle, ~. Cottingham Allen, and Glenn B.
Sundy, a quorum being present.
The meeting was held for the purpose of adopting a Resolu-
tion creating an advisory committee on financ~ and appointing
a Chairman for that committee.
RESOLUTION NO. 918
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
· OF DE~RAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
A?POIETMENT OF A CITIZENS ADVISORY FINANCE
CO MMITT EE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, as follows:
Section 1. That a Citizens Advisory Finance Committee be,
and the same is hereby created. The purpose of said Committee
being to advise and confer with the City.Council of the City of
Delray Beach, Florida, on matters pertaining to the financial
problems of the City of Delray Beach, as may be referred to it
from.time to time.
Section 2.~ That said Advisory Committee shall be comprised
of three (3) residents of the City of Delray Beach, who shall
hold office for a period of two (2) years; said members shall
serve at the will and pleasure of the City Council of the City
of Delray Beach, and the powers of said Com~ntttee shall be solely
advisory to the Council.
This resolution adopted and passed this 1st day of March,
1954.

Mrs. Woehle asked the City Attorney if it is not necessary
to add to the resolution that an appointed member of the committee
might succeed said appointment. City Attorney MacMillan replied
it was not necessary.
Councilman Allen made a motion that the resolution be adopted.
Councilman Sundy seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
Appointment of a Chairman followed with Mrs. Woehle making
a motion that Mr. Charles A. Crane be appointed and that he be
requested to recommend the names of two other persons to serve
on the committee. Councilman Allen seconded the motion which was
unanimously carried.
The meeting then adjourned.
