The final meeting of the 19%0 City Council of the City of Delray Beach was held in the Council Chambers at 10:00 a.m. with Mayor John N.Kabler in the Chair, and City ~ttorney John Moore, City Manager Charles E. Black, ai~d the following Co~cilmen present: R.J.Holland, ?~.A.Jacobs~ ?~alter A. Roth~ and J.L.Saunders~ a quorum being present. The minutes of the meetings of the Cotu~cil held December 26th and 30th were approved as written. As there ~a~ no other business to come before the retiring Cou:~cil, the meeting adjourned. Ruth R. (10:30 a.m.) The Organization ~.4eeting of the City Council of the City oO Delray Beach for the year 19%1, was held in the Council Chambers at 10:30 a.m . with Councilmen R.J.Holland, ?,~.~.Jacobs, John N. ~(abler, and the reelected Councilmen Ualter 2. Roth and J.L.,Saunders, present. Councilman Saunders ~as nominated as Mayor by Councilman l{abler, which nomination was seconded b~ Cotuacilman Jacobs. 2 motion was then made by Councilman Holland, seconded b Councilmani Kabler that nominations for the office of }~ayor be closed, a~ iir Saunders be unanimously elected i.,iayor for the current yegr. ~pon call of roll the motion carried~ Councilmen Holland, J~cobs, i'{abler and Roth voting in favor of the motion, and Councilman Saunders not voting. I~!ayor Saunders then took the Chair. Counc[lman t?alter A. Upon call oi' roll tlne motion carried, Councilmen Holland, Jacobs, ].[abler and Saunders voting favorably, and Cotu~.- 'cilman Roth not voting. }'iayor Saunders expressed his appreciation of the honor of again being elected as Mayor of the City~ and hoped that the new Council will be able to go a!~ead progressively and cooperatively, as it has in the past year, and accomplish as much for the City o2 Delray Beach as possible. The appointment o_J City Manager Charles E. Black for the ensuing year was reconnaended bM l~[ayor Saunders~ a~d upon motion oi' Councilman Jacobs~ seconded by Councilman Roth~ and unanimously carried~ this api~>ointment ~.zas approved. ldayor Sa'~nders then reco~aended the reappointment of Attorney John Moore as City Attorney for another year. Upon motion of Coun- cilman Holland~ seconded bM Councilman ~fabler~ and unanimously carried~ this recom~endation of the l.:ayor was also approved. Mayor Saunders then reco~mnended t:qat ~iss Dorotl~ea Galvin be reappointed as a member of the i]ioning Board for a term of three years~ as her term o[' office expired on January 1st. Upon motion of Councilman Holland~ seconded by Cotuacilman Jacobs~ and unanimously carried~ this reco~endation was apz~roved by 'the Council.
