Ord 21-10ORDINANCL' NO. 21-10 AN ORDIN,INCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DEI,RAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 32, "DEPART"MEN"I'S, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS", BY AMENDING SECTION 32.66, "MEET'INGS", 'I"O PROVIDE FOR QUARTERLY BOARD MEETINGS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; GENERAL REPEALI?R CLAUSE; AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Police Advisory Board has determined that it is more advantageous to meet quarterly. NOW THL-'BEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. 't'hat Chapter 32, "Departments, Boards and Commissions", is amended by amending Section 32.66, "Meetings", to read as follows: Sec. 32.66 MEETINGS (A) The Police Advisory Board shall meet at least once quarterly ~q on the second Monday in the quarter „r ~~~'- ~~~~``- except when that date falls on a holiday. In that circumstance, the Board shall establish another regular meeting date for that u4 arter tom. The Police Advisory Board may hold special meetings at the direction of its chairperson upon twenty-four (24) hours' notice. (B) All meetings shall be open to the public and the order of business and procedure shall be as prescribed by the rules and regulations to be formulated by the Police Advisory Board and adopted by the City Commission. Section 2. 'T'hat should any section or provision of this ordinance or any portion thereof, any paragraph, sentence, clause or word be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or part hereof other than the part declared invalid. Section 3. 'T'hat all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed. -- - i Section 4. BACKGROUND This Amendment changes the meeting frequency for the Police Advisory Board from monthly to quarterly since there are very few, if any, Board items that are placed on the Board's agenda on a monthly basis.
