WHEREAS, 'Thomas "Tustin was hired by the City of Delray Beach as a Police
Officer on September 1 G, 19H0; and on September 15, ?010 will reach a milestone in his career,
having achieved thirty (30) years of full-time seiti~ice with the City; and
WHEREAS, during the past thirty 'cars "Tom Tustin has scmcd this community
with honor and distinction as a Patrol Officer, Crime Scene Officer, and Sergeant in Patrol, the
'Tactical "Team, S.W.A.'1'., Crime Scene and the Detective Section; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant "Tustin has worked through the years to help make our
community safer and into the extraordinary city that it is today; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant "Tustin has developed a stellar reputation as acourt-certified
expert in the identification of fingerprints, a specialist in critne scene processing, and a
laiowledgeable and fair manager of the policing process, ensuring appropriate staffing, quality
reports, and preparedness of personnel; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant 'I'ustin's even-tempered and common sense approach to
policing arc well known and his work, early on in the streets and later in crime scene investigation
and the Investigative Section, is recognised throughout the Police Department and the City of
Delray- Beach and the attributes Sergeant "Tustin eslubited throughout his career act as a model to all
who seek opportunities for service to our fellow man; and
WHEREAS, the Cit<~ of Delray- Beach and the Delray Beach Police Department arc
honored to have had Sergeant 'Tom "Tustin as a valued member of the municipal team over the past
30 years and he will be missed by his co-workers and the entire city staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. '17~at the City Commission of the Cin' of Delray Beach hereby recognizes
and commends Tom Tustin for thirty years of dedicated and faithful public service.
Section 2. 'That the City Commission hereby congratulates and expresses sincere

BACKGROUND
In accordance with the City's service award policy, employees with 30 years of continuous full-time
service are to be honored by the City Commission with a resolution and plaque. Thomas Tustin, Police
Sergeant, will achieve this milestone on September 16, 2010.

A RESOLUTION OF THE QTY COMNIISSION OF THE CITY
OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING AND
COMI~~NDING THOMAS H. TUSTIN FOR THIRTY
YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH.
