A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray Beach was held at 4 P.M. in the Council Chambers to receive and open sealed bids for the construction of elevated tar~k founde, tious with Mayor L. H. Brannon in the Chair, and City Manager Charles-E. Biack, City Attorney John Moore, and the fo!!~ing Councilmen present: John N. Kabler, Neil E. ~cMillan, and C. J. White, a quorum being present. Sealed bids were received from three constr.action companies, as follows: 1. M. T. Crabtree, 532 Fifteenth Street, West PaLm Beach, Florida. Item No. 1. Elevated TarJ{ Foundations, including approximately 251 cubic yards of reinforced concrete with appurtenances, complete and ready for installation by others of 1/2 M.©. elevated steel tank and tc~.~er all in accordance with the detailed plans ~.nd as specified. After consideration b~ the Comueil, a motion was ~de by Co,~ci~n ~ite~ seconded ~ Couuci~n Kabler, that contract be a~rded to The M~phy Const~c- tion Co. of ~,~[est Palm Beach, Florida, as the l~est and best bidder, in the total ~o~mt of ~?11,5~6.00 and alte~ate (a) - $36.00, and alternate (b) -~0.15. Upon cs. ll of roll the motion carried unanimously. The }~yor and Clerk were authorized to execute contract with The M~phy Construction Co. on behalf of the City upon their f~nishing the req's, ired con- tract bond, and the Clerk was instructed to ret~n bid bons to the unsuccess- ful bidders.
