A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach was held in the Council Chambers with Mayor ~. H. Brannon
in the Chair, City Manager Chas. E. Black, Cit~ Attorney John
Moore, and the following Councilmen present: ¥. M. DeWitt, John
Kabler, and Neil MacMillan, a quorum being present.
The meeting was held to discuss the hurricane damage and the
work involved in cleaning the City.
The Council also discussed the advantages of having bills
approved by the Finance Committee the first week of each month
in order to obtain the discounts.
The Council agreed to offer T. M. Cook, Inc. ~90 for City
bonds.
Motion was made by Councilman Kabler, seconded by Councilman
MacMillan that four street lights be installed as follows:
Tamarind an~ Seasage
South of Bucida
Corner of Seasage and Casuartna
Corner of Seagate and Casuarina
A request from owners on 9th Avenue at NE 3rd Street was
read and a motion made by Councilman DeWitt, seconded by Council-
man Kabler to authorize Florida Power and Light Company to install
the street light.
Police radio equipment was discussed and the City Manager was
authorized to advertise the present equipment for a minimum of
1500.00.
The City Manager was authorised to get competitive bids on
a new police car, and bids for a Ford tractor plus the equipment
needed,imcluding a Willys Jeep pick-up truck with 4 wheel drive.
The City Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution
with regard to the County cooperating with the Lake Worth ~rainage
District in keeping the lake blean.
Mayor Bra~,~nnon ~as appointed as a member of the Delray Beach
~emorial Athletic Commit tee.
The meeting then adjourned.
