Bpecial Meeting was held with M~yor L.d. Brannon, City Manager
Chas. E. Black, City Attorney John Moore, and Councilmen John
Kabler and Nell MacMillan.
A license was granted to Mr. Trask to p~ddle coffee on a
house to house business, upon motion of Mr. MacMillan, seconded by
Mr. Kabler and unanimously carried.
A temporary permit was granted for the construction of a
fruit stand on East A. lantic Avenue, upon motion of Mr. MacMillan,
seconded by Mr. Kable~ and unanimously carried.
A zoning change request for Blocks 95 and 103 was read and
referred to the Zoning Board~ on motion of Mr. MacMillan, seconded
by Mr. Kabler and unanimously carried.
A license for a dry cleaning business was granted to Mr. Bates
to comply wit~ ordinance regulating~this business on motion of
Mr. Kabler, seconded by Mr. MacMillan and unanimously carried.
A license was granted for the sale of beer and wine for the
French restaurant on East Atlantic Avenue, under t~rms outlined
in the application. Motion was made by Mr. ~abler, seconded by Mr.
MacMillan and unanimously carried.
Bills totaling $7,972.58 were approved for payment subject
to the approval of the Finance Co~ittee, upon motion of Mr.
MacMillan, seconded by Mr. Kabler and unanimously carried.
The Council discussed the extent of advertising sm~mer tourist
trade and agreed to write both Chambers of Commerce for their
c oope rat ion.
A change in the ordinance governing set backs was discussed
and complaints in this regard were referred to the Zoning Board.
