03-05-47SpMtg MARCH ~TH, 19~+7. The Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, met in special session at 7:45 P.M., on call of the Mayor, to prepare the ballot box for the Referendum Election on Ordinance No. G-19 of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, to be held on March 6th, 1947, in the D elray Bowling Arcade, Delray Beach, Florida. Councilmen B.C. Butler, M.M. DeWitt, J.B. Smith and C.J. White, were present. A copy of the Mayor's call and notice of this special meeting and his affidavit of serving said notice to each member of the Council were read and entered in the minutes and the Clerk was directed to file said copy and affidavit with the minutes of this meeting. The City Clerk, Registration Officer for the City, presented to the Council a certified list of the registered, qualified, freeholder, electors of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, eligible to vote in said Referendum Election. After such list was examined, it was moved by Councilman White, seconded by Councilman Butler, and affirmed that said list be accepted and approved and filed for record with the minutes of this meeting. The City Clerk then presented to the Gouncil a certified copy of said list, the required number of official ballots, tally sheets and other required paraphernalia for the holding of said election. After the list, ballots, tally sheets and paraphernalia were examined and found to be in proper form and order, it was moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman White, and carried that the ballot box be locked, sealed and delivered to the Clerk of the Election with instructions as to the holding of said Referendum Election in compliance with the Charter of the City of Delray Beach aud the general election laws of the State of Florida.
