Special Meeting o'f the City Council of the City of Delray Beach was held
in the Council Chambers at 10:00 A. M. to receive bids on a crawler type
Tractor, and for any other necessary business, with Mayor M. M. DeWitt in the
Chair, and City Manager H. P. Edmond, City Attorney J. W. Now1 ~ e, and the follow-
ing Councilmen present: B. C. Butler and J. B. Smith, a quorum being present.
The Clerk presented proof of the publication of a Notice to the Public
calling for bids on one crawler type Tractor with shovel and bulldozer attach-
ments, which proof was spread upon the m~eutes as follows:
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
The City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, will receive bids
on July 2, 19~7, at 10:00 A. M. at the Council Chambers, for one (1) crawler
type tractor, mim~mum of ~0 drawbar Horsepower, with shovel and b,,~l dozer
attachments.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

One bid was received, from the Florida-~eorgia Tractor Co. of Miami, for
furnishing the above equipment, which offer was read as follows:

Per your request of several days ago asking us to quote you a delivered
price on the International T-9 Tractor which we have located at Lakeland,

Erie Sbovel Dozer attachment with 16-inch Track Shoes, electric
starter and equipped with Bucyrus-Erie front end shovel attachment
with Bulldozer blade attachment.

We can make shipment of this tractor immediately, and have same in
Delray Beach three days after you have given us your order.
We will have one of our service men unload this unit and stay with your

Ci~ Manager Edmond explained that the machine offered would meet the
requirements of the City, and he thought satisfactory terms could be arranged,
whereupon a motion was made by Councilman Butler, seconded by Councilman Smith,
that the bid cf the Florida-Georgia Tractor Co. for furnishing one International
Model T-9 Tractor, in the amount of $ 6,813.~0, be accepted, subject to the working
ou~ of satisfactory financial arrangements, and upon call of roll the motion
carried una~ ~usl~.
A revised drawing of the proposed buildings to be constructed on Lots 21 and
22, Haller and Groatman Subdivision, by the Lindsley Lumber 6o., to be used for the
reta~_l sale of building supplies, was presented bY Mr. E~mend, together with a
letter stating that no lumber or building materials would be stored in an oped
yard, or shed, at this location. The plans now showed an ecnlosed ~,~ng on the
rear of the lots, to be used for the storing of building materials.
A motion was then made by Councilman Butler, seconded by Councilman Smith,
that permit be granted for the construction cf buildings as requested, and upon
call of roll the motion carried unanimously.
An application filed by Francis P. Wenderoth, for permit to build a five
unit apartment building on Lot 11, Block 108, on the North Federal Highway,
considered, Mr. Edmond stati~ the plana would meet all requirements and had been
approved by the State Hotel Con~ssion.
Upon motion cf Councilman Bu~ler, seconded by Councilman Smith, granting of
building permit was approved, the Council agreeing to a twenty foot front set-back
with parking space provided in the rear cf the building. Upon call of roll the
motion carried unanimously.
Council then adjourned to the next regular meeting to be held at 7:30 P. M.
on Tuesday, July 8th, 19~7.
