10-07-47SpMtg A Speelal Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray Beach was held
in the City Na_n~_ger's office at 10 o'cloek A.M. to hear the request of Mr. C.W.
Garner pe~ to met-baek requirements in cc~neetion with the b,~41~(m~ he
is constructing on N. E. 2nd Street, east of the railroad, with Mayor M. M. De
Witt in the Chair, and City Manager H. P. Edmond, City Attorney J. W. Nowlha~
and the following Councilmen present.' B. C. Butler, F. B. McNeeee, J. B. S~ith
an~ C. J. White, a quorma being present.
Mr. Garner addressed the Council, explaining that he owned the north ~
half of Block 91, and that a 25' street had been dedicated Just south of his
property running east and Mst from the railroad to N. E. ~th Ave.~ stating
that he was building a warehouse on his property, and would like to build u~
to the line of the de&teated Street if possible. The 25' Street would be left
available for loading and unlcading purposes for his warehouse and for the
Stan~_a?d Oil Co. ~n the south.
City Attorney NewlY- advised that if this was a Street, set-~ck require-
ments would have to be co~plied with, but if considered c~ an alley he could
build ~p to the lot li~e.
The consensus of opinion of the Council was that as this was a dead-end
Street it would not be an outlet to traffic, and therefore would be of no
benefit to the City. ~
The following Resolution was then introduce:
