The followin__g Resolution, requesting assistance from the State Road Depart-
ment in rebuildiag the State Road A1A, which was damaged during the Hurricane
of September l?th, was presented and read in fell, as follows:

REQUESTING THE STATE ROAD DEPARTMENT OF T~E STATE OF FL~IDA TO FUP~IS~
ALL POSSIBLE ASSISTANCE TO THE COUNTY COmmISSIOneRS OF PAL~ BEACH COUNTY
FLORIDA, ~ THE REBUILDING ~F STATE ROAD NO. A 1 A.
W~REAS, ~ portions of State Road No. A IA were badly damaged in the hurri-
cane of Septeaber 17, 1~47, and
~EREAS, this state road is of vital im~ce to the people of this
Section of the State of Florida, and
WHEREAS, a portion of this road runs through the City Limits of the City
of Delray Beach, Florida,
N~, THEREF~P~, BE IT RESOLV~ by the City C~neil of the City of Delre~--~'
Beach, Florida, as follows:
1. That we hereby request the State Road Department of the State off Florida
to rauder ~ possible assistance to the County Cc~nissicaers of Palm Beach
County, Florida in the rebuilding of State Road A 1 A through ~ Beach County,
Florida.
2. That we request the State Road Department to assist the County Cca~is-
sic~ers by furnishing m~ney, materials and equipment to be used in such repairs
and reconstruction.
3. That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the State Road Depar~nt of
the State of Florida and one be .sent to the Board of County Ccmmtssicaers of
Palm Beach. County, Florida.
