POTENTIAL TASK RESPONSIBILITY
CRA - DDA - CITY - JV
In an effort to better define the missions of the partners of the Joint Venture, broad categories
have been defined and listed below that could pertain to the individual organizations budgets
and manpower limitations.
DDA
1. Fund Joint Venture marketing and events
2. Watchdog and advocate for Downtown maintenance issues including Christmas Tree
maintenance
3. Watchdog and advocate for needed Downtown improvements
4. Watchdog and advocate for security issues
5. Communicate with downtown property owners / merchants / businesses
CRA
1. Fund portion of City/DDA initiatives involving maintenance, repair, improvement, and
related tangible property particularly of those items contributing to a Clean & Safe
environment downtown
2. Fund Strategic Task Team established to maintain downtown standards of Clean & Safe
CITY
In the CRA and DDA budget discussions regarding maintenance of the Clean and Safe
efforts downtown, they suggested that a task team of city employees to be created, whose
goal would be to set and maintain the criteria for standards for the downtown, as well as a
funding mechanism to support the effort. The areas of concern include: Lighting
Trash / Garbage
Landscaping
Sidewalks / Alleys
Street Furniture
Downtown Signage
Code Enforcement
JOINT VENTURE
1. Marketing Downtown
2. Produce selected Special Events
3. Advise other community groups concerning their events/sponsorships
4. Coordinating event dates and help avoid conflicts of time and locations
5. Communicate with merchants / businesses re: events, promotions, marketing efforts

1. DDA reserve accounts for Clean & Safe Maintenance to be covered by the CRA,
DDA staff will continue to facilitate as needed. $ 47,000
2. Joint Venture shortfall for adminis~ation to be covered by CRA $ 25~000
Total DDA request $ 72,000
Additional items for consideration - not on any budget yet:
3. Addition to the Clean & Safe line item - Informational Kiosks to be attached to
current Map Kiosks (5) $ 10,000
4. Funding for City staffed Downtown Maintenance Team $100,000
includes: supervisor and overt'uric funding as well as reserve for materials
5. Required maintenance for the Christmas Tree steel frame $ 40~000
Total Requested $150,000
