The history of BRET delivered by David M. Schmidt: 3:00 minutes. Several Board members of BRET may attend. 3. The Channel 98 opportunity for Delray Beach and the rationale for an alliance with BRET delivered by Ivan Ladizinsky: 3:00 minutes. 4. Video tape demonstration of BREI's current programming and appearance on Channel 98: 4:00 minutes. Comprised of BRET identification-public service- and lower screen crawl with local information. Quick montage of various program elements; local and acquired program services. 5. Pass out presentation folders with BRET promotional material, summary of partnership agreement, proposed initial Delray Beach programming, new identity for regional service and potential titles and image concepts and a summary of technical requirements with the proposed location of Adelphia terminal at Old School Square. 6. A quick overview on how "Super Users" or "Trusted Users" would be able to enter emergency information via the Internet and how Channel 98 would operate in long term emergencies such as hurricanes. 7. Federal regulations requíre that we communicate/consult with the City as we move fOlWard with our plans. We win be submittíng our Demolition/Disposition application to HUD by Friday August 12,2005. Prior to submitting our application a Phase I Environmental Assessment had to be completed and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) advertised. This aspect was completed in May. In order to receive Sectíon 8 tenant relocation assistance, a "Request for Release of Funds and Certification" must be signed by the Mayor and submitted with the application. I have enclosed this Certification for your infonnation and assistance in completing this task, the final phase of our preparations for submittal of the demolition application. This amounts to a total gf 36 handicapped ace.saible unit., 12 slderly acc...ible unite, .nd 152 general purpoae units. Tne Carver public housing community has a population of 600 persons. In Pebruary 200"', MEP Structu~al Bngineering and Inspection, Inc. issued a report on the physical condition of the Carvsr Bstate. housing structures, finding that those structure. are essentially obsolete and in need of demolition. The report provided an asseDsment of general physical conditions of the Ca~ver buildings and site camponsnts. Th. report recommended demolition and replacement of the exi.ting Carvsx buildings due to deficiencies in functionality, ~tility. quality, energy efficiency, maintenance cost and long term value. consequently. the ~B~ a. the owne~ or the Carve~ Batates housing community ia now creating a redsvelopment plan for that includest · relocation of exiating ~esidents. · demolition of existing housing units, · new conatruction and financing ot aome level of replacsment units. · management of the development effort, and · the long-term management oversight Dr the new housing.
