Res 22-16RESOLUTION NO. 22-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM APPLICATION THROUGH THE PALM BEACH COUNTY METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION FOR THE E-4 CANAL GREENWAY ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION TO EXECUTE SAID RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes that alternative methods of transportation are important aspects of our City planning efforts; and WHEREAS, it is incumbent upon community leaders to ensure the safety and welfare of residents and visitors in Delray Beach; and WHEREAS, the City of Delray Beach wishes to install bike -pedestrian pathways and apply for funding related to the construction; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The recitations set forth herein above are true, accurate and correct and are incorporated herein. Section 2. The Mayor and City Commission hereby approves the City's application for the Transportation Alternative Program funding through the Palm Beach County Metropolitan Planning Organization for the City's E-4 Canal Greenway and to support the City's continued efforts for safety, multi -modal transportation and aesthetics on the City roadways. Section 3. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are repealed to the extent of such conflict. Section 4. The City Commission hereby authorizes the Mayor to conduct activities necessary to make a successful application for the Transportation Alternative Program funding through the Paha Beach County Metropolitan Planning Organization. Section 5. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption. RES NO 22-16 i PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular session on this the`7 day f , 2016.
