A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH,
FLORIDA, TERMINATING THE STATE OF EMERGENCY PREVIOUSLY DECLARED
IN RESPONSE TO HURRICANE IRMA PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 95 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH; PROVIDING AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, on September 5, 2017, the Mayor declared a State of Emergency in response to
Governor Rick Scott's issuance of Executive Order 17-235 (Emergency Management — Hurricane
Irma) declaring a State of Emergency in every county in the State of Florida;
WHEREAS, Hurricane Irma has passed and the City did not suffer a direct hit and has nearly
completed its recovery efforts;
WHEREAS, a State of Emergency no longer exist in the City of Delray Beach; in accordance
with Chapter 95 of the City of Delray Beach Code of Ordinances, Mayor, Cary Glickstein has declared
a State of Emergency within the City of Delray Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City Commissioner does hereby deactivate the City's Emergency
Management system and in accordance with Chapter 95 of the City of Delray Beach Code of
Ordinances does hereby terminate the previously declared State of Emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, that:
Section 1. The State of Emergency previously proclaimed on September 5, 2017 within the
City of Delray Beach, Florida is hereby terminated.
Section 2. The City Manager, or designee, is hereby directed to reinstate normal operations
and procedures for all City operations and business as a State of Emergency no longer exists.
