AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A NEW
OFFICIAL ZONING MAP PURSUANT TO SECTION 4.1.2
OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH LAND DEVELOPMENT
REGULATIONS; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE
AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Delray Beach, Florida, is required to create and maintain an
Official Zoning Map pursuant to Section 4.1.2 of its Land Development Regulations; and
WHEREAS, said zoning map was transitioned from a mylar based map to a CAD based
map through the adoption of Ordinance No. 53-93 by the City Commission on September 14,
1993; and
WHEREAS, the City has upgraded its mapping capabilities through the use of Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) and has created a new base map which is current in nature; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and appropriate that the City use its enhanced GIS mapping
capabilities in the creation and maintenance of the Official Zoning Map for the future; and

WHEREAS, the City's Local Planning Agency (LPA) has reviewed and recommended
approval of replacement of the Oficial Zoning Map at a regular meeting held on March 20, 2017;
and
WHEREAS the Ci Commission considered such an action following an advertised

public hearing held on June 20, 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. That the recitations set forth above are incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, is hereby
replaced with a new Official Zoning Map to be maintained on the GIS systems.
Section 3. A copy of the new Official Zoning Map, upon being executed by the Mayor
and attested to by the City Clerk, shall be retained in the Office of the City Clerk in accordance
with Section 4.1.2(C) of the Land Development Regulations (LDRs).
Section 4. The Planning, Zoning and Building Director of the City of Delray Beach, Florida,
is hereby directed to publish, to distribute, to maintain and to provide revisions and updates to the
new Official Zoning Map for official purposes as the need arises pursuant to Section 4.1.2(B) of the
LDRs; and any subsequent Official Zoning Map revision, being ministerial in nature, may be
approved in the future, without the necessity of review by the Local Planning Agency, through the
adoption of a Resolution of the City Commission approving an updated version of the Official
Zoning Map.
Section 5. If any clause, section or provision of this ordinance be declared by a court of
competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, such unconstitutional or invalid part'or
application shall be considered as eliminated and so not affecting the validity of the remaining
portions or applications remaining in full force and effect.
Section 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are to the extent of
such conflicts hereby repealed.
Section 7. That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage on
second and final reading.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular session on second and final reading on this the 20th
