Re: Brant Drive Bridge Replacement
Dear Mr.Falconi,
During a bridge inspection at Brant Drive Bridge in September of 2014, the structure was found to
be functionally obsolete. The City of Delray Beach had the approach slabs replaced due to
settlement issues. However, the entire bridge needed replacement. The City of Delray Beach
received a grant from the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency(TPA)to replace the Brant
Drive Bridge over the C-15 canal from Oregon Lane in Boca Raton to Avocet Road in Delray
Beach. Delray Beach currently maintains the existing bridge and will continue the annual
maintenance responsibility thereafter. The project will be executed by the Florida Department of
Transportation with funds secured through the TPA grant. Construction is currently scheduled in
FY 2021.
The City of Boca Raton is in support of the bridge replacement project.
Sincerely,
Leif J.Ahnell, C.P.A., C.G.F.O.
City Manager
