Special Ileeting or t03 City Counc:l.l of the City of Delray Beach was
held, upon call of the lfayor, at 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers, to
consider action in regard to the Gol! Course management, and any other
business which needed the attention or the Council at this time, with lfayor
M. Y. DeWitt in the Chair, and City lfanager H. P. Edmond, City Attorney J. W.
Nowlin, am the following Councilman present: F. B. McNeece and C. J. White,
a quorum being present.
lfayor DeWitt stated that as the action of the Council of September 9th,
with reference to the management of the Gol! Course, qht cause discord in
the City, a conference had been held with the Gol! Collllllittee and a satisfactory
agreement had been reached, am it was thought best to go further into the
situation before taking any definite action, whereupon a JlIOtion was made by
Councilman llcNeece that the action of the Council in rejecting the recoDmenda-
tLon ct the Gol! OOlllllittee, at the DIIl8ting beld September 9th, be rescinded.
The IIIOtion was seconded by Councilman White, and upon call of roll carried
unanimously.

City llansger EdlllOnd reported with reference to the two bids recei wd for
'Street S....eping equipment, one from the FloriQa-Geargia Tractor Company of
Jlia.IIIi for $ 3,350.00 delivered at Delray Beach, and one from Calley & EIIIIlsrt of
Chicago, in the amount of $ 3,000.00 F. O. B. Chicago.
Mr. EdJllOnd, after Checking, had found that the freight charges from Ohicago
to Delray Beach on the street 811'8eper oUered by calleY & ~rt, would be approxi-
mately $ 632.40. He recoDmemed the acceptance of the bid of the Florida-Georgia
Tractor Co. as being the lowsllt and best bid, as it is a smaller ll1l8eper and a
later lIIOdel, and hall had ~1"1 little ulle.
A motion was made by ConD"i1'l"'n White that the bid or the Florida-Georgia
Tractor Co. be acc~ted, all raceDmwed by the City lfanager, and that Mr. Eanond
be instructed to pl'Iilceed with arrangements to secure delivery. The JlIOtion wall
seconded by Councilman)lcNeece, and upon call of roll carried UI'1An1111()Usly.
Oity Attorney J. W. No1din advised that the former ~r of Blocks A, B & 0,
Dell Ida Park had advised him that he would bid on these Blockll at the state sale,
and if he lIere the succesllful bidder he would de!iicate Blocks A & B to the Oity
for park purpollell, but he wished to keep Block C for hill own UIle. Nr. NCllflin had
previously been inlltructed to bid on thelle Blocks for the City.
Council authorized Oity Attorney Nowlin to bid up to $ 600.00 for a ten acre
t1'8ct of land just lIOuth of the Oity dllllping grounds, which will be amtioned by
the State on September 13th.
A bill of the llathiellon Alkali Works in the aJllOunt of $. 30.00, haung been
approved by the Finance Oollllllittee, wall ordered paid.
Oouncil then adjourned.
