The Council met in Special Session on call
of the Mayor at 10:30 A.M. to discuss taking action
on a re-zoning proposal of the colored secll.onj and
any other business which m1:ght need the action of
the Council at this tiine. All members of the City
Counoil and City Attorney were present.
Mr. Ogren appeared before the Council and
submitted to it the proposals for re-zoning oolored
town as recommended by the Planning Board~ 4fter
lengthy discussion of the proposals it was moved by
couMilman White, seconded by Counoilman Jaoebs that
the counoil approve t.he proposalsC'made to it by the
Planning 130ard and to instruct the (,;1ty Attorney to
incorporate into ordinance these proposals.
Councilman Jaoobs brought before the Counoil
the matter of filling for the arohery targets for
the U.S.O. He' state4 that they had been unable to
secure hay for the targets and the U.S.O. wanted to
know if the City would haul seaweed to the arohery
field for their targets. It was the opinion of the
Council that now hay can be procured and that. the
matter be looked into before taking further action.
Councilman Jacobs also brought before the
Council the sanitary condition existing at,the
Firestone station and restaurant. He asked that the
sanitary in&pector inspect the condition there.

A letter Was read to the Council from the
Delray Beach Planning Board relative to the proposed
subdivision of the Armsby place as submitted by Mr.
Matt Gracey. The letter stated that the Board
approves the plat with the exception that they feel
that the width of the actual pavement should be
increased to thirty feet and that the edges of the
paving should be proteoted with adequate curbs of
concrete,. It was recommended by the Mayor that the
matter of street requirements be referred to the
street committee for study. also that the Gracey
