The Council met in final session as a Board of
Eqqalization at 10 A.M. with the following members
present: Jacobs, Wha1~,Waters and Assessor Ogren.
Mr. White and Mr. DeWitt were absent.
There being no complainmits to be heard, it was
regularly moved that inasmuch as the CQUDcil's work as
a Board of Equalization was completed, the Council
adjourn, finally as a Board of Equalization for the
year 1945. Motion was seconded and unanimously
carried on roll call, and the Board accoreingly
ad journed.

The CoUDcil met in Special Session at 8 P.M. on
call of the Mayor, tor the purpose of discussing city
ordinances and resolut ionS with the Oi ty Attorney, and
for any other matters of business Which might need the
action of the Council at this time. City Attorney
Nowlin and the following members were present: Mr.
DeWitt, Mr. Jacobs, Mr. Thayer, and Mr. Waters. Mr.
White was absent.
The following Resolution was read in full:-

RESOLUTION NO. 536
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
TEE CITY.OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA,
CONCERNING THE PROPOSED RIGH'!' OF WAY FOR
U. S. HIGHWAY NO. 1 THROUGH DELRAY BEACH,
FLORIDA.

Councilman DeWitt moved that the resolution be adopted.
Mr. Waters seconded the motion which carried unanimously
on roll call.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF DEL:uY BEACH, nORIDA,
REQUESTING THE DEDICATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY TO THE ,PUBLIC FOR USE AS
PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS, AND OTHER PUBLIC
l'URPOSES.

At this time Attorney Nowlin advised the CoUDcil he
had thoroughly checked through all existing city ordinances
and resolutions, having frond many duplications, and many .
outmoded ordinances. The Council discussed with the
attorney the ones they thought should be taken out of .
the new proposed ordinance book. Mr. Nowlin advised that
out of five hu~dred and thirty some odd ordinances and

resolutions now existing, abo~t one hundred and fifty
would be ample to cover the towns r!quiremen.ts.
Attorney Nowiin stated Mr. Carr was trying to
secure right of way deed from Mrs. Addie Mae Bell for
road purposes on S.W. Fourth Street. He also advised
that he, Mr. Nowlin, had made application for purchase
of land for colored cemetery site.
Mr. Jacobs moved that Mr. Joe Martin be appointed
as city building inspector with a salary of IZOO. per
month. Mr. DeWitt seconded the motion which carried
unanimously on r'oll call. The Clerk was instructed to
advise Mr. Martin of the Council's action.

Council, Council adjourned.
