Emergency Management (GA-21) City of Delray Beach ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL SUBJECT: Emergency Management GA-21 o EFFECTIVE DATE: 6/28/05 PAGE 1 OF 1 NUMBER REVISIONS ~ SUPERSEDES GA - 0 Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to administratively adopt and apply the National Incident Management System (NIMS) as the basis for the management of all emergency incidents and disasters occurring within the City of Delray Beach. This policy is supplemental to standards related to Emergency Management, Chapter 95, Code of Ordinances of the City of Delray Beach. GA - 1 Policv: The City of Delray Beach and all of its departments and employees shall, to the extent appropriate, integrate the National Incident Management System into the city's emergency management system. All emergency management plans and departmental operating procedures shall be developed in such a manner as to be consistent with the objectives of NIMS. All exercises and training in emergency management and emergency incidents shall be conducted and coordinated in accordance with the objectives of the NIMS. All equipment designed for use during emergencies shall, whenever possible and practicable, be purchased and maintained for access and use in compliance with the objectives of the NIMS.
