COUNCIL CHAMBER
July 31, 1939
The Council met in special session at 9 :00
A.M., on call of the Mayor, for the purpose of taking
quarantine pree,utions against infantile paralysis;
and to prepare the ballot box for the election to be
held August lst for voting on propcsed charter changes.
Councilmen Bradshaw, Crego, Hall and Miller
were present. Mayor Hill was absent.
Vice -Mayor Crego presided.
It was moved by Mr. Hall that Dr. Davis,
City Health Officer, be authorized and directed to
enforce the quarantine, in his discretion, against any
case of infantile paralysis, and that the quarantined
house be responsible for the cost of maintaining a
guard during the duration of the quarantine; and that
the quarantine will not be lifted until this expense
had been met. Mr. Bradshaw seconded the motion and on
roll call the vote was as follows: Mr. Bradshaw yes,
Mr. Crego yes, Mr. Hall yes, Mr. Miller yes. The
motion carried.
The City Clerk then presented to the Council
the required number of official ballots, a list of the
registered voters, tally sheets and other required para-
phernalia for the holding of the special Charter Election
on August lst, 1939.
After the ballots, list of voters etc. were
examined by the Council and found to be in proper form
and order, it was moved by Mr. Bradshaw, seconded by Mr.
Hall and carried unanimously that the ballot box be
locked, sealed and delivered to the Clerk of the Elect-
ion Board with instructions as to the holding of said
Charter election, in compliance with the charter of the
City of Delray Beach and the general election laws of
the State of Florida.
There being no further business to come be-
fore the meeting, it was regularly moved, seconded ands
carried that Council adjourn. n
