~he Council met in called session at 7:30 P.M.
in conformity with Section 137 of the City Charter, for
the purpose of canvassing returns of the Charter amend-
ment election held August 1. The City Attorney and the
following members were present: Mr. Bradshaw, Mr. Crego,
Mr. Hill and Mr. Miller. Mr. Hall was absent.
The Clerk submitted official returns, as
made by the election board composed of W.O. Winn, Clerk,
and Arthur Barton, W. A. Jacobs, and G. W. Mayberry, In-
spectors.
It was moved by Mr. Miller, seconded by
Mr. Crego and unanimously carried that the following
resolution be adopted:

WHEREAS, certified copies of the election
returns as delivered to the Mayor and City Clerk
by election officials, in charge of the Charter
.Amendment election, held in the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, on August 1st, show votes to have
been case as follows on the questions voted upon:
"1. Do you favor the amendment of' the City
Charter as set oUD in Sections 1,2,3,4,5,
6,7,8,9 and 10 of House Bill no. 1808,
Laws of Florida, 1939, (providing for
oertain technical changes in the City
Charter)?

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED By the Ci ty
Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, that
said election returns show the electors to have been
favorable to, and to "have voted for the proposed

amendments, which amendments are hereby declared
carried and adopted by said vote of the qualified
electors of the City of Delray Beach.

Councilmen Bradshaw brought up the matter
of compensation due L.S. Wilson, Manager of the Golf
Course. He explained that the Chairman of the Golf
Conmittee was out of town for a few days and had over-
looked authorizing payment of Mr. Wilson's salary be-
fore leaving; therefore Mr. Bradshaw moved that the
City Clerk be authorized to pay Mr. Wilson's salary
of i150.00 upon presentation of bill duly approved
by the remaining two members of the Golf Committee.

Keen's return but Councilman Bradshaw said Mr. Wilson
was in need of the money. Mr. Crego therefore seconded
Mr. BradShaw's motion, ani on roll call the. vote was as
follows: Mr. Bradshaw.yes, Mr. Crego yes, Mr. lIill
yes, Mr. Miller no. Mr. Miller asked that it be noted
in the minutes that objection had been raised by him
to this action because it was contrary to the resolution
previously adopted providing the method and procedure
Of payment of expenses incurred at the Golf Course.
There being no further business to come
before the meeting, it was moved, seconded and carried
that Council Adjourn.
