COUNCIL CHAMBER
November 6, 1939
The Council met in special session at 7:30 P.M.
to prepare the ballot box for the Primary election to be
held, Tuesday, November 7th.
(
After the ballots, list of registered voters,
etc. were examined by the Council and found to be in
proper form and order, it was moVed by Mr. Crego, seconded
by JlJIJ:'. Bradshaw and unanimously carrie d, on roll call,
tha t the offici al ballots, list of regis tered voters
and other election paraphernalia be approved and placed
in the ballot box, and that the ballot box be locked,
sealed and delivered to the Clerk of the Election Board
,nth instructions as to holding the municipal primary
eleotion, in compliance with the laws of the State of
Florida, the Charter of the Oi ty of Delray BeaCh, and
ordinances pertaining to the holding of said municipal
elections. '

The follmnng resolution, submittedby Mr. Hall,
was by motion of 1[r. Bradshaw, seconded by Mr. Crego,
and unanimously carried, adopted, and the Clerk direoted
to supply the Election Board with oopy of same:
WHEREAS the poll list of the City of
Delray Beach has not been revised by a re-
registration for a long while,

AND Vi/HEREAS it is believed that many
of the persons whose names appear thereon
are dead or have left the City, with the
consequent poss ibili ty of unregistered
individuals representing themselves as
persons dead or removed, and voting in
their names and stead,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the
Oity Council request the Election Board
to exeroise particular' diligence in the
election oT November 7, 1939, by requiring
any person not personally kno\~ to saia
Election Board to identify himself as
the actual qualified voter whom he represents
himself to be.
