COUNCIL CHAMBER

The Council met in special session at 7:00 P.M.
for the purpose of preparing the ballot box.
The City Clerk submitted to the council the re-
quired number of official ballots, a list of the
registered voters, tally sheets and other paraphernalia
necessary for holding of the special Library Election
on Tuesday. June 7th.
After the ballots, list of voters &c. were examined
by the Council and found to be in proper form and order,
it was moved by Mr.Wodischek that the ballot box be
locked, sealed and delivered to the Clerk of the
Election Board with instructions as to holding of said
special election in compliance with the charter of the
City of Delray Beach and the general election laws
of the state of Florida. said motion was seconded by
Mr. Gwynn and unanimously carried.

An application of James Lane for position of
Life Guard during the absence on vacation of Jack
Kaye, the regular life guard, was presented by
Councilman Gwynn. Some objection was raised be8ause
the boy was a minor, only seventeen years old, but
members finally agreed to his employment for the short
vacation period requested. A letter from the boy's
parents releasing the City from all responsibility in
case of injury or death was also received and ordered
filed with said application. It was accordingly moved
by Mr. Miller that James Lane therefore be employed for
the position of Lifeguard during Mr. Kaye's absence.
Mr. Wodischek seconded the motion, which carried
unanimously.
~~The Clerk submitted and read letters from Mr. F.E
Mackle requesting that ,his property, viz. 158 feet on
Eighth Avenue in Block 128 and Lots 1~,20,44 and 45 .
Las Palmas be re-zoned from Residence "B" to Residence
"A" District. Mr. Mackle's request was supplemented
by similar requests from owners of neighboring property
in blocks 129,137, 130,138 and 122. In discussing
the requested changed, it w~s stated that same would
have to be made by ordinance and it was recolllll16dded
that these be included in an amendment covering various
changes which have been requested, from time to time,
since passage of the Zoning ordinance. In regard to
Mr. Mackle's request it was moved by Mr. Hall, seconded
by Mr. Gwynn, and unanimously carried, that the Clerk

be instructed to notify Mr. Mackle that the property
in question would be re-zoned into Class "A" by amend-
ment of the zoning ordinance, w~never, and at such
time as said amendment is drawn. '\

the Council, it was regularly moved, seconded and
carried that Council adjourn.
