COUNCIL CHAMBER
December 5. 1938
The Council met in special session at 7:30 P.M. ~or
the purpose o~ preparing the ballot box ~or t~e primary
eleotion to be held Tuesday. December 5th, and ~or other
items o~ business needing the Council's action at this
time.
The City Clerk presented to the Council the required
number o~ official ballots. a list of the registered
voters. tally sheets and other necessary paraphernalia
for the holding o~ said primary eleotion on December
5th. 1938.
After the ballots. list of voters etc. were examined
by the Council and "round to be in proper form and order,
it was moved by Mr. Gwynn that the ballot box be locked,
sealed and delivered to the Clerk of the Election Board
with instructions as to holding of said primary election,
in compliance with the Charter of the City of Delray Beach
and the general election laws of the State o~ Florida.
Said motion was seoonded by Mr. Wodischek and carried
unanimously.
Councilman Gwynn then brought up the matter of re-
building and putting into condition the Gol~ Club House
recently damaged by fire. He recommended a new ~loor.
and seid the doors all needed to be raised. He stated
W.M. Waters had bid on this work. and for the painting
of the bUilding. the floor to cost $45.00 and the paint-
ing $ 73.25. .
After discussion. it was moved by Mr. Wodischek that
the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute required
contract with"W.M. Waters for repair o~ the club-house
at the $2.088.91 cost plus price submitted by said
bidder~ Mr. Hall seconded the motion which carried
unanimously,
. Mr. Gwynn moved the adoption of the following res-
olution in acceptance of the settlement o~fered by the
National Fire and the Detroit Fire &: Marine Insurance
companies for fire damage sustained at the Gol~ Club House.

RESOLUTION NO. .2.ll
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DEL RAY BEACH, FLORIDA. AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF SETTLEMENT OFFERED BY NATIONAL
UNION FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY AND DETROIT FIRE
AND MARINE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR FIRE DAMAGE
SUSTAINED BY CLUB HOUSE, LOCATED ON THE MUN-
ICIPAL GOLF COURSE.
Mr. Wodischek seconded the motion for adoption. which
carried unanimously.

Mr. Gwynn asked what color of. paint the Council would
recommend for the building and it was decided to paint
same a canary yellow with white trim.

Willard Waters. asked permission to move oocoanut
palm from in front of the new Boyd BUilding, stating
it needed to be removed to enable him to finish the
paving there. It was accordingly moved, seconded and
carried that Mr. Boyd be granted permission to move
said tree. and it was further recommended that same be
transplanted in a location East of the Boulevard. on
South Ocean Beach.
In order to quiet the City's claim to Lots 1 &: 2
Ocean Park. which had been deeded in error some years
ago,instead of merely a right-of-way of 2 feet 8 inches
off Lot 1, Mr. Nowlin asked that the City give a quit-
claim deed to "All of Lots 1 &: 2, Block 2 Ooean Park,
except the East 2'.8" of Lot 1". It was accordingly
carried that deed be given as requested for the said
purpose of quieting title to this property.
The business of the meeting having been oompleted,
it was moved, seconded and carried that Council adjourn.
