12-07-38 Called ---.--------"--------- -- ------.-.--. --- COUNCIL CHAMBER December 7, 1938 In conformity with Section 137 of the City Charter, the Council met in oalled session at 7:30 P.M. for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the Primary election held December 5th, Counoilmen Gwynn, Hall, Hill and WOdisohek were present. Counoilman Miller arrived for the latter part of the meeting. The eleotion box was opened and the returns, as made to the Mayor and Clerk, dUly submitted for the Counoil's approval,whereupon it was moved by Mr. Wod- isohek, seconded by Mr. Gwynn, and unanimously oarried that the fOllowing resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, certified COpies of the election returns as delivered to the MaYor and City Clerk by election officials in oharge of the Primary Election, held in the City of DelrayBeaoh on Deoember 5th, show votes to have been oast as follows for candidates running for nomination in Class "D". J .K. Gwynn C.C. Turner Frank Crego E.H. Scott Spoiled ballots 54 129 174 221 19 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City. Council of the City of Delray Beaoh, Florida, that Frank Crego andE.H. Soott be deolared the dulyeleoted nominees for the office of Councilman, running in Class "D". AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to place the above . nominee's names on the official ballot as oandidate$. for CounCilman in Class "D". I am a painter by trade ~nd as this is the rush season of the year, and I have so much work ahead of me I feel that I cannot go on with my council work in a manner which would justify the holder of such office. Gwynn Mr. Gwynn asked the members' immediate acoeptance of same for the reasons stated therein, whereupon it was moved by Mr. Wodischek that the Council accept same, ex- pressing regret, and the thanks of the members for the cooperation and splendid service rendered by Mr. Gwynn during his inoumbency of office as City Councilman.
