COUNCIL CHAMBER

The Council met in special session, on call
of the }layor, for the purpose of discussing the duties of
Mr. R.G. Lynn, the Superintendent of Public Works.
The following members of the Council were
present: Mr. Barton, Mr. Genton, Mr. Gwynn, Mr. Hill and
Mr. Wodischek. The Mayor and City Attorney were absent.
By motion of Mr. WOdischek, seconded by Mr.
Barton and unanimously carried, the following RESOLUTION,
NO. 188 was adopted.
RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY
BEACH, FLOHIDA, ENDORSING THE REOPENING OF STATE
ROAD NO. 140 FROM DELRAY BEACH TO BOCA RATON, FLORIDA.
It was moved by Mr. Wodischek and seconded
by Mr. Genton to reconsider the motion passed by the Council
on Juna 14th regarding a Superintenden~ of Public Work.s It
was the opinion of the Council that th~y should not make
such an appointment until the new budget is set for the en-
suing year. On roll call the vote was as follows: Mr.
Barton yes, Mr. Genton yes, Mr. Gwynn yes, Mr. Hill yes, Mr
Wodischek yes.
A discussion then took place about the need
of an engineer and it was stated by Mr. Wodischek that it
was not legal to borrow money from the Water Meter Deposit
Fund to pay the salary of an engineer. It was finally moved
by Mr. Wodischek and seconded by Mr. Barton to rescind the
former action of the Council on June 14th to employ Mr. R.G.
Lynn as Superintendent of Public Works. On Roll call, the
vote was as follows: Mr. Barton yes, Mr. Genton yes, Mr.
Gwynn no, Mr. Hill yes Mr. Wodischek yes.
The President of the Council aunointed a
committee composed of Mr. Arthur Barton and Mr~ F.W. Wodiscaek
to work in co~unction with the American Legion committee and
the Kiwanis Committee for the purpose of consulting and
pushing the playground project through to completion at an
early date.
By motion regularly made, seconded and carried,
Council adjourned.
