COUNCIL CHAMBER
September 16, 1937
,
The Council met in adjourned session at 7:30 P.M.
Thursday, September 16th, for the purpose of examin-
ing the tax rolls and preparing a list of properties
on which City taxes appear delinquent for five years
or over.
First, the Mayor brought up the matter of debt
refunding proposal, as submitted to the City by the
Bondholders Committee, last June. Mr. Bradshaw was
of the opinion that the matter of refunding should
not be allowed to drop at this time and urged that
the Council make an effort to meet with the Bondholders
Committee, either in Delray or Jacksonville and attempt
to come to some agreement along the lines of said
Committee's proposal, after necessary changes and modi-
fications have been made in same. There was consid-.
erable argument for and against such action being taken
by the Council but it was finally agreed that the Chair-
man of the Finance Committee wire Mi'. Mittendorf asking
that his committee arrange for a meeting as suggested
by the Mayor.
After looking over the delinquent tax rolls
the Council instructed the Clerk to list such properties
in their different classifications -- centrally located,
business, residential &c., and present same for action
of the_Council at its next regular meeting.
There being no further business, meeting ad~ourned.
