AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 15 "LICENSES", SECTION 15-1 "REQUIRED",
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA,
BY CLARIFYING SAID SECTION AND BY PROVIDING FOR A $10.00 REGI-
STRATION FEE FOR PERSONS OBTAINING CITY OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE WHO
HOLD A VALID AND CURRENT OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE FROM THE COUNTY OR
OTHER INCORPORATED MUNICIPALITY, AND BY PROVIDING FOR A $2.00
REGISTRATION FEE FOR PERSONS OBTAINING A CITY OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE
WHO HOLD A VALID AND CURRENT PALM BEACH COUNTY COUNTY-WIDE LICENSE;
PROVIDING A SAVING CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 15-1, "Required", of the Code of Ordi-
nances of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, is hereby amended to read as
fo 1 lows:
(a) No person shall engage in or manage any business, pro-
fession, or occupation mentioned, within the limits of
this city, unless a city license shall have been pro-
cured from the building official of the city. One
license shall be issued to each person, upon receipt
of the amount hereinafter provided in this chapter and
such license shall be signed in the name of the city,
by the building official and shall have the city seal
thereon.
(b) Persons not required to obtain a city occupational
license for the full fee pursuant to Subsection (a)
above, but holding a valid and currently effective occu-
pational license issued by the county or another incor-
porated municipality shall be issued a city license for
their particular occupation upon their registering with
the city building department and the payment of a $10.00
registration fee.
(c)Persons not required to obtain a city occupational
license for the full fee pursuant to Subsection (a)
above, but holding a valid and currently effective county-
wide license issued by Palm Beach County pursuant to
Chapter 70-857, Laws of Florida shall be issued a city
license for their particular occupation upon their
registering with the city building department and the
payment of a $2.00 registration fee.
Section 2. That should any section or provision of this ordi-
nance or any portion thereof, any paragraph, sentence, or word be declared
by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall
not affect the validity of the remainder hereof as a whole or part thereof
other than the part declared to be invalid.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall become effective ten days
after passage on second and final reading.
