~e Council met in special session at 7:30 P.M. on call
ofkhe Mayor, for the purpose of considering the application of
Ralph Cohn, Inc. for licenses to opera te seven automa tic vending
machines at various locations in the City.
'The Mayor and the follow ing members of the Council were
present: Mr. Barton, Mr. Foote, Mr. Gwynn and I~. Hill. Mr.
Genton was absent.
Mr. K.J. Milton, representing the applicant, was !)resent
and discussed the application with the Council.
It was finally moved by Mr. Barton that "The Council.go
on record as being absolutely opposed to the operation of.alot
machines in the City of Delray Beach," The motion was seconded
by Mr. Gwynn. Mr. Foote offered the following amendment: "That
the Council will back the Mayor in any legal move to prohibit
the operation of slot machine s." Theamendement was accepted by
Councilmen Barton and Gwynn, and upon being put to a vote, the
motion was unanimously approved as amended.
There being no further bus iness to come before the
meeting it was by motion regularly made, seconded and carried,>
adjourned.
