COUNCIL CHA16'IBER January 11th, 1932. The Council met in requla~ session at 7:30 P. M. The Mayor and all members of the ounci 1 were present. The minutes of m?etin gs held December 28th, Deoember 30th and January 4th were read and approved. ~'<, h ~. 4.' Atltl x } { "Wk#~, a t . A communication was received from the Silas Green ' Show requesting a license to show in Delray Beach on January 22nd. It was moved by Mr.-Berg and seconded by Mr. Diggans ~ that the Glerk be instruc ted to issue the license and on roll call the motion was unanimously carried. s A communication was read from 6ttorney C. Y. Byrd, representing property owners, requesting that a street light be placed at the intersection of Lake Terrace and Northwest. First venue. It was moved, seconded and carried that this';;.. mstter be referred to the Light Cofnm ttee for investigation.``: The application of Mrs. Goff, requesting widows ex- emp;~ion, was read and as she has no minor dependents it was moved Tay fir. Berg that the Clerk advise Mrs. Goff that ex- emption Qould not be allowed. The motion was seconded by Mr'' Diggans on carried. The application of Mr. H. C. Lane for the position of motorcycle policeman was read and ordered filed. Mr. Diggans offered the following motion: That pro- vision be made for employing a mot oreycle policeman at a .salary of125.00 per month, the officer to furnish motorcycle and all equipment. The City to furnish gas and oil. The motion was seconded by Mr. Endsleyand do ro]~ call the trots was as follows: Mr. Berg yes, Mr. Crego no, Mr. Diggans yes, Mr. Endsley yes, and Mr. Smith yes. Mr.-Endsley moved that Mr. E. M. Lanz be appoints ' motorcycle policeman. The motion was seconded by MP. Diggans '~ and on roll call the :vote was as follows: Mr. Berg yes, Mr. {` Crego no, Cdr. The motion was seconded by Mr. Grego. and on roll call was as follows: Mr. Berg yes, Mr. Cre go yes, Mr. Diggans no, Mr. .Endsley no and Nlr. Smith yes. Mr. Diggans then offered the follovring motion: That the salary of the motorcycle policeman be fixed at 125.00 per month. The motion was seconded by Mr. Endsley -.. -. - -- and--on roll call the vote-was as follows: Mr. Berg no, --- Mr. Grego no, Mr. Diggans yes, NLr. Endsley yes and Mr. Smith yes. The motion was carried. Mayor Hall then requested that the Council reconsider the matter of appointing an advisory committee of five citi- zens to meet with the Council from time to time for the ptzr- po~a of discussing and working out City problems. The matter was. discussed by Councilmen Berg, Diggans, Grego and Smith. ~r. Grego then offered the following motion: That the matter "_appointing an advisory eomnittee be reconsidered.
