The Council met in regular session at 7:30 P. M.
The Mayor and all members of the Council were present.
Minutes of meetings held March 28th and March 30th
were read and approved.
The committees to whom the matter of adjusting the
improvement liens on the Morrison property on the North
D9.xie Highway reported that they were not thru investigatin g
and asked further time, which upon motion duly made, seconded
and carried was granted.
A communication from Mrs. Florence L. Schleckser re-
garding widows exemption on her taxes was read and referred
to the City Attorney.

~~', Mr. Diggans offered the following motion: That the
!: City Clerk be authorized and instructed to redeem the taa
certificates on Lot 5 in Block 92, amounting to 233.53. '
~ ~ The motion was seconded b y ~.ir. Berg and on roll call unani-
v.~ . mously carried.
It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that
the Clerk be instructed to reduce the fire insurance om the
Cline property from X120 O.OE} to 600.00 and apply the un-
earned premium on eaten ding the insurance.
A co~nunication was read Prom the Delray Tax Adjust-
went Carnpany calling the attention of the Council to their
demand filed on December 28th, 1931 Por the payment of
interest coupons held by that company. Mr. Berg offered''the
following motion: That the Cle rk be authorized and instruc-
ted to pay the Delray Tax Adjustment Company the sum of
X662,00. The motion was seBOnded by Mr. Crego and on roll'.
call unanimously carried. _
A demand was also read from the Delray Tax Adjust=,
ment Company demanding payment of X336.00,-representing thee;.

held by said -0 arnpany an which a credit of X16,00 had been '
made. Mr. Berg moved that the Clerk be authorized and in-°'
structed to pay the Delray Tax Adjustment Company the above
sum. The mot ion was seconded b y Mr. Diggans and on roll
call the vote was as Follows: Mr. Berg yes,. Mr. Crego yes,
Mr. Diggans yes, Mr. Endsley yes, and Mr Smith no. The
motion was declared carried.

Council Chamber - April 11th, 1932.
A communication was read from Chief of Police
Johnson requesting that his department be furnished with
tires and other equipment amounting to w107.80. It was
regularly riloved, seconded and carried that the communica-
tion be filed.
The following motion was made by Mr. Berg: That
the automobile insurance on City owned automobiles be
placed with the Metropolitan Casualty Insurance Company of
New York. The motit~n was seconded by A"Ir. Crego and on roll
call unanimously carried.

.The following ordinance was then introduced and
read in full: AN ORDINANCE BY THE.MAYOR AriD THE CITY COUN-
CIE OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, SETTIP?G A LICENSE
TAX ON BI?SINESSES CONLQTCTED AND CARRIED OD? IN-SAID CITY.
Mr. Diggans moved that the ordinance be passed on first
reading. The motion was seconded by Mr. Berg and on roll
call unanimously carried.
The matter of discontinuing street lights was then
taken up and discussed at length. Pvir. Berg moved that the
Florida Power & Light Company be notified to cut ofP all
street lights on 9,pri1 15th. The motion was lost ~lor want
of a second.
The following motion was then offered by Mr. Diggansa
That the traffic light at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue
and the Federal Highway be discontinued on May 1st and that ''
the electric current consumed by the City be reduced 500 on
May 1st, 1932. The motion was seconded by 1'.~r. Berg and on
roll call unanimously carried.
It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that
current bills be referred to the Finance Committee. The
following bills having been audited and 0. K. 'd by the Finance
Committee were referred back to the Council and on roll call
ordered paid:

and requested certain information regarding a warrant
w??ich he had sworn out against a partT~ violating the park-
ing regulations. No action was taken.
ivir. Grego moved that the City proceed to give D:Zrs.
Boone a S"Jarranty Deed for the North Dixie Highway property
upon payment of the ~1,000.UO purchase price. The motion
, was lost for want of a second.
1l4r. Prince came before the Council and requested
permission to install-a filling station at his property on
N. w. Fiftih Avenue. It was regularly moved, seconded and
carried that this matter be referred to the Street Committee
for investigation.
